The main card for UFC Fight Night: Felder vs Dos Anjos rounds out with an exciting middleweight match-up to boot. Eryk Anders and Antonio Arroyo will scrap in what is bookmarked as a potential ‘Fight of the Night’ contender. Both fighters are coming in off a loss and will be hungry to get back to winning ways.

Anders missed weight by one and a half pounds on the scale and 20% of his fight purse will go to Arroyo. Eryk Anders has had a tough time making 185 and his recent weight mishap may trigger a move-up in weight. What’s more, several fighters who moved up from middleweight including the current 205-pound champion found success at light heavyweight.

UFC middleweights: Eryk Anders vs Antonio Arroyo

‘Ya Boi’ Anders has had a tough go in the UFC and is coming off a loss to Krzysztof Jotko. After losing three straight from September 2018 to April 2019, Eryk managed to turn things around with a two-fight run. Chiefly, his biggest drawback has been the lack of consistency throughout his tenure with the promotion.

Eryk Anders is one of the most durable fighters in the UFC, and it’s virtually impossible to finish him. His fight against Khalil Rountree perfectly showcased his toughness and proved that you need the kitchen sink to stop him. Furthermore, he’s got sound boxing in the southpaw stance and is effective in checking kicks.

Antonio Arroyo comes in off a loss to Andre Muniz in his debut outing with the UFC. The 31-year-old Brazilian will be keen to reaffirm the belief that the UFC President placed in him during his Dana White’s Contender Series stint. The 9-3 fighter has proven himself to have a well-rounded arsenal, and he’ll have a chip on his shoulder.

Arroyo uses his reach to great effect and has arguably one of the best jab set-ups amongst active middleweights. The biggest area of concern will come in when his opponent tries to make rash entries with check hooks. Antonio has a tendency to lower his guard when walking down southpaws, and this could be a costly mistake.
