The main card for UFC Fight Night: Felder vs Dos Anjos saw its first finish through an exciting catchweight bout. Sean Strickland announced himself to fight fans in a massive way after scoring a TKO win over Brendan Allen. ‘Tarzan’ took the fight on short notice and it’s clear that two-years away from the Octagon hasn’t affected him.
The end came at 01:32 of the second round, and there was no doubt that Brendan Allen was done for. Sean caught him moving backwards and blasted him with a peppering shots that sent ‘All In’ to the canvas. The follow-up shots from Strickland were largely unnecessary, as it was clear that Brendan was all but out.

UFC Catchweight: Brendan Allen vs Sean Strickland
‘All In’ Allen started off the bout in fast fashion as he walked down his opponent behind a powerful jab. Strickland seemingly needed a minute or two to feel out his opponent’s timing before launching an offense. The first round was a back-and-forth contest that saw both fighters land shots of significance.

A key takeaway for Sean Strickland going into the second round was the fact that Brendan Allen wasn’t being defensively responsible. Chiefly, this was the sentiment that Allen’s coaches reiterated in his corner after round one. He wasn’t holding up a high guard after breaking away from an exchange. This would turn out to be a costly mistake as Strickland carries power deep into the fight.
