“You’re Still a Punk”- Bill Algeo Calls Out Giga Chikadze After Beating Spike Carlyle at UFC Vegas 15

UFC Featherweight Bill Algeo won the night against Spike Carlyle on the scorecards at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Clark. The fight was an exciting back-and-forth contest that saw both fighters land fight-ending blows. Although Spike Carlyle managed to hurt Algeo early, Bill Algeo weathered the storm effectively.

The bout was placed strategically on the mid-card as it had ‘Fight of the Night’ written all over it. Furthermore, it didn’t fail to deliver, and both men managed to raise their profiles. Both men are players in the 145-pound division. However, Bill Algeo has separated himself from the pack. He certainly put the division on notice and will look to move up the ladder after accruing his first win.

Bill Algeo takes aim at Giga Chikadze

Senor Perfecto’ spoke to Paul Felder after his decision victory over Carlyle and was pumped up, to say the least. Algeo fired heavy artillery towards another top featherweight who has been making waves as of late. He turned his attention towards Giga Chikadze, and there’s no doubt that he wants to scrap with him next.

“One more thing, Giga, you’re still a punk. You’re trying to get him ready, it didn’t work. I still want you, the UFC’s protecting you… I want you bro! Let’s go.”

Bill Algeo let it be known that Giga Chikadze’s training of other featherweights didn’t do much in terms of enhancing their performance. He seems to be ready to make an explosive turnaround against the fighter who’s accrued UFC acclaim in a short time. Fans of the sport have already touted him as a top-tier contender to challenge for the belt.

The fastest path to Alexander ‘The Great’

The featherweight division is spearheaded by Alexander Volkanovski. He’s set the bar exceedingly high, and fighters in the weight class will have to put forth top-tier performances. Chiefly, the division is log-jammed at the top with veteran contenders and could certainly use some fresh blood. Up and coming fighters who surge towards a title oftentimes position themselves to put forward star-making performances.

With several fights falling through, the UFC could certainly look to secure the booking of Bill Algeo vs Giga Chikadze. Both fighters are fresh off wins, and they’ve fought in a relatively close time frame to each other. Moreover, the fight will most likely not see the scorecards and there could be a violent finish to decide a new emerging contender.
