UFC heavyweights, Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins are off the UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad card for Saturday night. Chiefly, an injury is suspected to have removed the featured bout from the main card. However, it’s unclear which of the two aforementioned heavyweights came in as the cause of the cancelation.
The news came in through Fightful, and the specifics around the fall-out require further inspection. While the card certainly would have been bolstered by the heavyweights, there are other fan-friendly fighters on the card. Names such as Dan Ige, Misha Cirkunov, and Angela Hill stick out to fans as fighters to watch out for on March 13.

UFC Vegas 21: Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins
‘Big’ Ben Rothwell is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura in his last outing from October 2020. Prior to the defeat, he was riding a two-fight win streak and was looking like a potential player in the division once again. However, with a 2-4 record in his last six, Rothwell will have to be more consistent to truly enter the ranks of that conversation.

Philipe Lins is on a two-fight losing streak and was looking to bounce back against Rothwell. Moreover, the Brazilian is 0-2 in the company and could be fighting for his job in his next outing. The UFC has been gradually whittling down the roster and recent releases of fighters like Alistair Overeem are a point of concern for fighters.
Both men would certainly put on an exciting three-round matchup, and it’s likely that the fight will be re-booked. Stylistically, a fight featuring Ben Rothwell is usually one that is always compelling, especially against a fundamentalist like Lins. Not to mention, rattling off a few straight wins at heavyweight is potentially enough to make a run.
