Felicia Spencer and Norma Dumont will take the center of the cage at UFC Fight Night: Font vs Garbrandt. The featherweight division doesn’t see many bouts being booked and the road to a title isn’t particularly long. In fact, Dumont wasn’t too keen to fight at 145-pounds but has had trouble making 135-pounds in the past.

Given that the UFC’s featherweight division doesn’t really have rankings to speak of, the contention is up in the air. Amanda Nunes recently defended the strap against Megan Anderson and the door is open for the next player to emerge. Norma Dumont will benefit greatly from being put in a position to defeat Spencer and enter contention.

Dumont is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ashlee Evans-Smith in her last fight. In her six UFC fights, she has shown all-round promise, etching three stoppage wins. Without much high-caliber experience, Norma Dumont has the unfavorable task of warding off a hungry and motivated Spencer.

Dumont, who is heavy off her lead leg, prioritizes fighting in close range to assert her strength in the clinch. Felicia Spencer can match her strength in the grappling range and is technically more proficient in that department.
