UFC Fight Night: Tom Breese vs Antonio Arroyo

Breese is 1-2 in his last three outings and was defeated by Omari Akhmedov in his last outing in January. Breese’s defeat at the hands of Akhmedov was a setback, as that fight was his opportunity to enter into contention. While Arroyo is a slight step back in the middleweight hierarchy, he’s a game challenger who always brings a scrap.

Tom Breese looks to take the fight to the ground off a fundamentally strong jab and is usually successful in his attempts. The Englishman uses his length and reach effectively and is a menace once he secures the top position. Throughout his career, he has heavily favored the RNC submission as he can create distance with his long limbs.

Antonio Arroyo is on a two-fight skid via unanimous decision with his last loss coming to AKA standout Deron Winn. The 31-year-old Brazilian is yet to etch a win in the UFC after capturing Dana White’s attention in the contender’s series. A loss to Tom Breese would put him 0-3 in the UFC and could spell disaster for his run in the promotion going forward.

Antonio Arroyo is comfortable on the canvas in his own fight and has secured 44% of his wins via submission. However, he has a varied arsenal of kicks and side attacks that he has effectively used to his advantage. Tom Breese is quite durable through the course of three-round; however, Arroyo will favor his ability to secure the finish.
