Two veteran bantamweights in Kang Kyung-Ho and Rani Yahya take the center of the cage at UFC Vegas 33. Both men have been in the organization for well over 6 years, however, they’ve yet to receive mainstream recognition. A co-main event feature spot is just what both men need to make a meaningful impact on the casual MMA audience.
The bantamweight division is bustling at the moment with several marquee names making a push towards a championship title. Furthermore, with several contenders log jammed at the very top, it’s a good time to pick up a statement win. Having over 20 UFC fights between them, it’s about time either Kyung-Ho or Yahya make their mark in the title picture.

UFC Vegas 33: Kang Kyung-Ho vs Rani Yahya
‘Mr. Perfect’ is on a three-fight win streak, however, he hasn’t been active since he fought in December 2019. Chiefly, it’s his long hiatus that has caused a massive delay in the recognition he deserves from the MMA world. He’s 6-1 in his last seven fights and fans will want to know if he returns in peak form.

The South Korean stand-out is no slouch on the ground, however, he’ll be well advised from avoiding grappling exchanges with Rani Yahya. He has a good chance of making his shots count if he manages to enter and exit into striking range carefully.
Rani Yahya gears up for his 38 professional fights and he’s most certainly not short on experience against elite competition. He’s 1-1-1 in his last three outings and is coming off a submission win over Ray Rodriguez in his most recent scrap. The Brazilian will be keen to start building a streak as he’s pushing 37 and hasn’t been too active.

With 21 of his 27 wins coming by way of submission, Yahya’s prowess on the mat speaks for itself in spades. Kang Kyung-Ho stands tall while he fights and Rani Yahya will look at this as an opportunity to get underneath him. Once Yahya clamps onto a limb or the neck, more often than not, the victory is on its way.
