UFC President Dana White spoke to the media at a post-fight scrum following the events of UFC Vegas 5. The event was headlined by a Middleweight match-up between Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan in the UFC’s return to home turf. The long-time company boss touched upon various topics as he addressed the media following Brunson’s statement victory.

Chiefly, the UFC had faced several ups and downs in their return to Las Vegas, with a multitude of fights being canceled. Moreover, the promotion experienced smooth sailing in their ventures at Yas Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. Going forward, the world’s leading MMA promotion will be keen on duplicating their success in the Apex Facility.

Dana White chimed in: “I knew we could do this”

The company President as addressed the recent situation involving the MLB’s failed attempt to restart their league. Several players on the Miami Marlins tested positive for COVID-19 and forced a shutdown to the league. White expressed his views on the matter via The MacLife YouTube.

“I knew we would from day one, I knew we would be able to do this. Knew that we would spend the money and get the right people involved. I believe in my staff, and obviously I believe in the fighters.”

White doubled down on the organization’s success in the realm of putting on exciting fights for the fans. The UFC was the first major North American sporting organization to make a successful return in the pandemic era.

“I knew that we could do this, and I knew we would. There’s a lot of mistakes that these other leagues have made. They could do it right if they wanted to. You have to be in the bubble. It’s impossible to pull this thing off without a bubble.”

Dana White and the UFC brass will be looking to maintain their status at the top of the food chain. Not to mention, White has offered his plans to counter COVID-19 to other leagues on multiple occasions in the past. The promotion will be keen to replicate the success they witnessed in Abu Dhabi on a consistent basis.
