‘Ratchet and Clank’ has been one of the most iconic franchises from the house of PlayStation. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, the upcoming title in the series, was one of the first announced exclusive titles for the latest console in the PlayStation family. This title was one of the first ones to demonstrate the strong hardware of the PS5. It was with this game as an example that Jim Ryan showcased the changes in the gaming experience that the PlayStation 5 promised to bring about.

There have not been many updates about this much-anticipated title until now. Marcus Smith, the Creative Director of Insomniac Games, has finally revealed some interesting new trivia about this upcoming game. He spoke at length about the title on a recent PlayStation Official blog post. Along with this, he also gave us a sneak peek into the soundtrack that will feature in the game.

Marcus was really excited to let us in on this information. With only two months to go before the release of the title, Insomniac sure handled the suspense well. So, the second protagonist whom we see in the trailers, as well as the cover of the game, is called Rivet.

Many of the fans already know that the game deals with two dimensions simultaneously. Rivet is the protagonist from the second dimension and is a resistance fighter. In her dimension, she is a Resistance Fighter against the evil Emperor Nefarious, who hunts all those who oppose him. The official blog post says:

“You saw brand-new locations like Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on old favorites like Sargasso and Torren IV along with a sneak-peak at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics.”

In the latest gameplay trailer for the game, players can see more of Rivet and her world. However, the trailer has more to it than that. The soundtrack featured in the trailer is by the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame nominated band DEVO. Interestingly enough, Mark Mothersbaugh, the co-founder of DEVO, has also composed the soundtrack of this upcoming PlayStation exclusive.

The blog post also contains the SoundCloud links of some of the tracks from the game. In addition to this, Insomniac has revealed the five armor suits they will be including in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game: The Imperial, Scavenger, Android, Rebel, and the Hacker suits.

Well, Insomniac sure knows how to raise the hype for their titles!
