Nathan Chen is the star of the ice rink right now after he won the gold medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. He performed a free skate, which was absolutely flawless and earned him a well-deserved medal. But will Nathan Chen participate in the next Olympics? And what are his plans for the near future? Going into competitions, Chen’s motto is to have fun and give it his best shot. His first priority is to ace his performance; whether or not that earns him a medal comes later.

At first, he concentrates on enjoying the experience. Outside the rink, Nathan Chen is a humble and down-to-earth guy. He likes to keep it simple and dedicates himself to his passion.

What does the future hold for Nathan Chen?

After his successful Olympic stint, Nathan Chen now intends on taking some time off for himself. He wants to discover what else life holds for him outside of figure skating.

From a young age, Chen has been passionate about skating. Not only that, but he had also been into gymnastics. After the 2018 Games, Nathan joined Yale University. In 2020, he took a break from college to train for the Olympics and also because of covid -19.

But now that he has some time, Chen will probably go back to college. At 22, Nathan already has a pretty successful career. But the question at hand is, will he be competing again after Beijing?

Chen recently revealed that he will definitely be involved with figure skating, but he doesn’t know how much.

“Certainly I’ll still stay involved in some some way or another. How involved? I’m not quite sure yet,” said Chen.

Chen revealed that he is taking some time to figure things out. For now, he is trying to enjoy the moment.

“I think that’s something that I’ll have to figure out as time goes on.And four years is certainly a pretty long time.”

Indeed, Chen has enough time on his hands to decide what he will do next. For now, the athlete is trying to enjoy the experiences that come with this big win.

Chen’s motto going into the Olympics

Chen also revealed that his motto going into the Olympics was to have fun. He wanted to make sure that one single Olympics did not define his caliber.

“I came to these games trying to put myself in the mindset of not wanting to go into win. I’m here to enjoy the experience, whatever the result ends up being.”

Chen is currently trying to spend more time with friends and family. Although he has traveled all over the world, he hasn’t had time for a real vacation. So maybe now Chen can spare some time off his busy schedule and treat his fans and followers to some pictures from his much-needed break? We await in anticipation.
