US Open 2019 Draw – Roger Federer And Rafael Nadal To Set Up a Dream Final

The US Open 2019 draw has been unveiled at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and the ‘Big Three’ of tennis once again take the top three seed spots. Before this year’s tennis season curtains down, the global ambassadors of the sport are once again on board to add another major title in their account. 

US Open 2019 Draw: Novak’s road to defending his title

World Number one, top seed and defending champion, Novak Djokovic is eying to emulate his previous year’s eminence at Flushing Meadows. He will open against Roberto Carballes Baena, he might face Sam Querrey in second and then followed by Dusan Lajovic in the third.

The fourth-round opponent might be Stan Wawrinka or Kevin Anderson. Novak might meet Daniil Medvedev in the quarters followed by Roger Federer in the semifinals. A potential championship match is expected to be between Nadal and Djokovic.

Since his last year’s title at Flushing Meadows, the Serb has collected two Grand Slams and after his Wimbledon win, Djokovic has played just three matches.

US Open 2019 Draw: Rafa’s path in New York

The Spaniard, Rafael Nadal retired from the US Open 2018 semifinals due to a knee injury. Leading the bottom half of the draw, this year, he has been drawn to open against Jack Millman, then Kokkinakis in the second. His compatriot Fernando Verdasco might be his third-round opponent and Rafa might see John Isner in the fourth round.

He might meet Alexander Zverev or Khachanov in the quarters, Dominic Thiem in the semifinals and followed by Djokovic or Federer in the finals. 

World Number two, Rafa was declared the champion in Montreal, and with that, he sealed his second seed spot for the American Slam.

US Open 2019 Draw: Federer’s quest for his 21st Slam

The five-time US Open champion, Roger Federer was a fourth-round upset last year, this year he falls in Novak’s half. He will open against a qualifier, then Dzumhur in the second and Lukas Pouille in the next two rounds.

Then in the fourth round, he might meet Goffin or Pella. Federer might face Kei Nishikori or Borna Coric in the quarters followed by Novak in the semifinals. After his win over Djokovic, he might set up a final with Rafa.

After missing his 21st Grand Slam by just a point, World Number three, Roger Federer appeared in Cincinnati and over there he lost his second match to a qualifier in 62 minutes.

US Open 2019 Draw: Dominic’s track for his maiden Slam

In New York, the fourth seed, Dominic Thiem might face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarters and Nadal in the semifinals.

After the finals at Roland-Garros, Thiem won another title on clay in his home country and played just two hard court matches in Montreal. Though his participation in the US Open Series hasn’t been much but the reigning quarterfinalist is one of the favorite faces of the tournament.

This year, Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev are a new addition to the top-ten list of seeds. The Canadians, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov set up a round one encounter. Nick Kyrgios and Tsitsipas might set up a potential round three encounter.
