Lance Armstrong is one of the most discussed athletes of all time. He used to be in the headlines, earlier for his excellent performances and later for his conviction and confessions. Notably, his career met a tragic end. However, it wasn’t his confession that hurt people the most but, his attitude during the interrogation.

It is not a secret that Armstrong was banned from competitive cycling in 2012. His blunt, rude ways of defending and lying angered the audience. However, people were hoping the ban would help him introspect his mistakes.

Lance Armstrong got different feedback

In 2018, six years after the ban, Armstrong opened up about his experience after the incident. People, too, wanted to know the changes Lance has gone through. However, those six years weren’t great for him. A blunt assessment came from Lance about his immediate years after the incident. He said, “The last six years in a lot of ways have sucked.”

After his confession in 2012, audiences were divided into two halves. People who couldn’t believe it and people who were filled with anger. Lance admitted the same. The cycling legend said that in six years; he came across both types of people. He said, “I get people who feel he hasn’t apologized enough. I get people who say, dude stop and move on”. For half of the room, I wasn’t enough and for the other half, it was way too much.”

Lance Armstrong’s life after cycling

After his ban, Armstrong was focused on building a new media brand, which included hosting two podcasts and starting his own company. He used to spend much of his time with his fiance and his five children.

Armstrong first opened up about the doping issue in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2013. Since then, he lost everything from money to fame. However, the cycling legend still lives a respectful life in his own eyes.
