Tour de France Femme 2023 3rd stage has just concluded. Lorena Wiebes won the third stage of the competition and stood atop the podium with a typically impressive sprint. Julie Van de Velde of the Fenix-Deceuninck team was in the solo lead for a major part of the race in the last kilometer. But she fell short in the final few hundred meters and was taken over by a peloton of cyclists.

Lorena Wiebes, who was cycling in the middle of the peloton, took charge along with her SD Worx teammates. The SD Worx got their act together in the four kilometers and took charge with timed perfection. A clip of the last stage contest before the finish line got viral and attracted a hoard full of comments fromthe social media cult.

A clip of the last minutes of the stage three races of the Tour de France Femme was shared on Twitter. The clip was shared by Kathryn Bertinea, former cyclist on her official page. She posted the video with a caption saying, “Women’s cycling is boring” said no educated person with eyeballs and a pulse, ever” and hashtagged watch the femmes.

In the clip, it was seen that the Belgian cyclist Julie Van de Velde was on the solo lead in the race. A peloton was following her from about a thousand-meter distance. But, in the last 600 meters, the gap began to close down. In the last three hundred meters, Lotte Kopecky took over her with other cyclists. Later on, Lorena Wiebes, Kopecky, and Marianne Vos were in the final contest for the win.

Lorena Wiebes won the race, and this was her first win at Tour de France 2023. Marianne Vos of the Jumbo Visma team secured the second position and Lotte Kopecky finished third. It was a heartbreak for Julie Van de Velde but she was awarded the combativity award for her courageous solo effort.
