“Not a Fan of Water”: Michael Phelps Revealed His Family Member Who Stays Away From Swimming During an Interview in 2017

Michael Phelps, the swimming legend, shared in an interview in 2017, about some of his family members who stay away from swimming. He shared about how one of his dogs likes to stay away from water, but still leads an active lifestyle. He described his dogs’ likings in the interview.

Michael Phelps is a swimming legend that needs no introduction. He is the most successful and the most decorated Olympian of all time, having won a staggering 28 medals. Phelps also holds the record for the highest number of Olympic gold medals.

Michael Phelps opens up about his dogs!

Michael Phelps shared an interesting part about his furry family members in an interview. He has two dogs in his family, Juno, and Legend. Talking about them, Phelps said, “My family has always lived an active, healthy lifestyle, so it’s very important to us that our dogs do the same. Legend absolutely loves it, but Juno is not a fan of water at all!”

He shared how Legend absolutely loves playing in the water, and is always in and out of the pool. On the other hand, Juno is not a big fan of water. He loves to run around in shallow areas.

Although Phelps notes that playing in the shallow areas is also beneficial for Juno as it keeps him cool in the heat. This helps in avoiding issues related to dogs caused due to heat.

Phelps is not just a swimming legend but also a philanthropist!

Other than swimming, Phelps is very well known for his philanthropic activities. He set up the Michael Phelps Foundation which focuses on promoting the sport of swimming using his $1 million bonus from Speedo. Phelps also joined the board of a company called, Medibio, which focuses on the diagnosis of mental health disorders.

It was really interesting to see Phelps’ dogs being as active as the rest of the members of the family. He gave an insight into their habits and their love for swimming and water in general. It would be nice to see them playing together.
