Honoring Her Family’s Swimming Legacy, 14-Year-Old US Prodigy Continues to Astound Sporting World

Swimming is a good hobby and helps a person stay fit and relaxed. But, for professional swimmers despite its health benefits, is a very competitive sport. In addition, if you are a child of an Olympic medalist and national champion then swimming comes as a second nature. Ella Busquets seems to have endured it perfectly till now and is willing to continue it in the future.

They say you can inherit genes but not greatness. Ella is set to prove it wrong. The young swimmer is embracing her parents’ legacy with fantastic performances and work ethic. The Diablo Aquatics swimmer is all set for the next challenge.

Ella Busquets: All set for the US Junior National Championships

The daughter of a four-time Olympian is an all-rounded swimmer who focuses on a work ethic for preparation and uncompromised effort for performance. Recently in May at TYR Pro Swim Series – Mission Viejo, she qualified for the US junior national championships giving her best of 27.38 in 50M long course freestyle. Following this, her aquatic coach Chris Horner praised her and acknowledges her victory. More so, currently, she is among the top 10 nationally due to her backstroke in her age group.

According to him the mantra for her success is her approach to preparation and pool performance. The coach stated, ” She embraces challenges in practice, oftentimes trying to turn freestyle aerobic sets into backstroke sets. ” He further states that she enters the competition with the right mindset, balancing her intensity, excitement, and fun at the same time.

When Ella was asked what she likes the most about swimming she replied the dedication and effort it requires. She likes to set new goals and works hard to achieve them. She pushes her other teammates to do their best.

Ella Busquets Taking the Legacy Forward

Ella is the daughter of Ricardo Busquet and Emily Plummer. Ricardo was a four-time Olympian, NCAA champion, and two-time world championship medalist. Emily was the national champion in the 4X100 free relay and Olympic trails swimmer. Ella looks up to her parents and considers them as her role models. Her parents are also supportive and want the young swimming prodigy to perform on the national stage.
