Since making her Olympic debut in 2004, Allyson Felix tasted immense success as an elite sprinter. In every Olympic appearance, the 35-year-old won at least one medal, which shows just how talented and consistent she was.
With this amount of success and experience, Felix is clearly qualified to have her opinions on the way others run. In a recent video, the ace sprinter shared a few critical words towards Tom Cruise’s running action in a scene from his movie.

Allyson Felix voices criticism towards Tom Cruise’s running action
Recently, Felix featured in a video where she gave her views on running scenes from various movies. Some popular movies which featured in this video include Forrest Gump and Rocky II. Among these movies, Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ also featured in the video.
In the scene she watched, Cruise, who plays the role of a spy, chases the main villain of the movie on foot in Dubai. Although he looked quick, Felix revealed several flaws in the scene while mentioning how unrealistic it looked.

She started by speaking about his form, where he lifted his knees too high. She said, “This form here is pretty extreme. He is very technical, but almost like over-the-top. His legs are coming up so high, that it’s too high. You’re working against yourself at this point. Everything is just over-exaggerated.”
The 35-year-old then moved on to his arms, which looked quite intense when in motion. “His arms are almost pumping too fast and too quickly where it’s counterproductive. This is also very unrealistic. You wouldn’t be able to hold this speed and this form for this long. A 100m, maybe 200m, you could hold this type of speed, but it would have completely broken down and fallen apart.”

Felix also spoke about the impact of weather on running during the video. While she admitted Cruise’s speed amid a sandstorm looked unreal, she admitted hotter weather suits sprinters.
“Weather definitely affects your running, especially for sprinters. The hotter the weather, the better result you’ll have. It’s easier for your muscles to warm up,” said Felix.

Felix has an Olympic medal tally of seven gold, three silver and one bronze. Whether she can add to her medal tally in the 2024 Paris Olympics, only time will tell.
