“This Is a Large Celebration”: Cowgirls Set to Earn Over $1,100,000 During Iconic Championship at Historic Rodeo Venue

This week marks an important milestone in the sport of bull riding. On May 21, 2023, the PBR World Finals will conclude, after which rodeo fans will have had their fill of the sport’s pinnacle event. The Dickies Arena in Texas is packed with audiences watching the week’s amazing competition between the world’s best bull riders and the world’s best bulls. The PBR World Finals is a major event, but it’s not the only one this week. Fans of bull riding will be pleased to know that the 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship will be held this week as well.

The Fort Worth Report claims that famous female athletes in the rodeo industry have gathered on the steps of Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards. From May 18–20, 2023, the arena will play host to the 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship. Some of the most well-known names in the sport have also weighed in on what promises to be one of the largest rodeo events ever.

Women’s Rodeo World Championship week was supported by Pam Minick of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Famer, Rosser-Sumpter, and other rodeo leaders. More than 800 participants will have the opportunity to fight for record-breaking prize pools in this event. Any female athlete above the age of 13 who is interested in or has participated in breakaway roping, barrel racing, or team roping is permitted to enter. However, there is only one admission ticket available per individual, and the challengers only have one shot at defeating the world champions.

The top twenty female rodeo stars in the world would also be included in the show. There will be many preparatory rounds throughout the Women’s Rodeo World Championship Week of activities. These rounds include the qualifying round, the semi-final round, the showdown round (for roping events only), and the Triple Crown of Rodeo round.

According to the North Worth Report, Women’s Rodeo World Championship Commissioner Linsay Rosser-Sumpter shared some words regarding the event, saying, “This is a large celebration of female rodeo athletes.” She also revealed that the winners of the competition will share in a total prize fund of $1,100,000. Rosser-Sumpter further mentioned the reason to hold this enormous event, saying, “We wanted to honor women.”

The events will be televised on a national basis by The Cowgirl Channel and draw a massive audience in the United States. The fact that it’s happening the same week as the PBR World Finals means that bull riding and rodeo fans will go crazy about it.
