“Don’t Think…Everyone Should Do It”: Mr. Olympia Icon Opens Up on Deadlifting

Iain Valliere is a known name in the bodybuilding circuit. A professional bodybuilder himself, Valliere is also a coach and the brother-in-law of current 4x Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead. Known for his impeccable body aesthetics and ripped physique, the bodybuilder is quite famous for his bodybuilding tips. While being frequent with his social media posts, the Canadian native keeps updating fans with bodybuilding tidbits.

Following his usual drill, Valliere earlier today shared his take on “deadlift.” Answering a fan’s query over a quick Q&A session, the IFBB pro had much to share with his Instagram family.

Even though Valliere himself has not yet secured any of the prestigious bodybuilding competition titles, his knowledge and depth in bodybuilding can not be questioned. As an experienced professional, he always has been a top performer in every bodybuilding event. Thus, getting tips from him is always a win for bodybuilding enthusiasts. “Do you ever deadlift? Do you recommend it or no?”- the question for Valliere was direct. And wasting no time, the 2021 Arnold Classic runner-up was quick to reply.

Answering the question with all his honestly, Valliere remarked, “I have started deadlifting again. It is absolutely one of my favorite exercises to do, so much fun to test yourself like that.” As a fitness content creator, Valliere holds years of expertise in the sport. He did not just earn a name for himself but also guided celebrity names like Chris Bumstead and others into the sport.

Adding more, Valliere wrote, “I think it’s a great exercise, but I don’t think necessarily everyone should be doing it. But if I’m giving a blanket statement, yes I recommend it.” Valliere not just shares such insightful details concerning workouts and bodybuilding but is also quick to squash myths surrounding the sports. He regularly holds such Q&A sessions with his fans where he can be seen addressing their queries.

The time when Valliere tackled a silly fan question with ease

Fitness coach Valliere often has to deal with questions that otherwise make no sense to the professionals. As one of his fans enquired, “Is it necessary to eat 1000 grams of crabs to grow?” Calling the question to be “ridiculous,” he replied, “of course, it isn’t. You think a 180lb person needs 1000g carbs to grow? Don’t be silly lol.” Thus, refuting such myths with ease, he makes it a point to spread more awareness of the sport.

Valliere first started with his competitive journey as an amateur in the 2010 OPA Ottawa Championships. Securing 1st place in the Junior Men’s and 3rd in the Men’s heavyweight class in 2014, he earned his first Pro card in 2015 in the Toronto Pro Supershow. Over the years, he has earned a name for himself.
