Simone Biles is by far the most decorated gymnast to have ever graced the sport. The 24-year-old from Columbus is a star icon, even at such a young age. Dressed in gold and silver, Biles has 32 Olympic and World Championship medals to her name. Notably, Biles has been performing on vault, balance beam, all-around, and floor events for years now.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the young American not only claimed two medals (silver and bronze in all-around and balance beam) but also brought to light the important issue of mental health on the global platform.

A major throwback

Being an excellent gymnast, Simone Biles has an unbelievable physique. Alongside her strong built, the kind of elasticity her body entails is also breathtaking to witness. In a newly emerged video, she put her famed flexibility on full display, wowing the crowd effortlessly. Notably, fans were left speechless as Biles pulled off a backflip in a rather comfortable and quick motion.

She did so, while on a baseball pitch, wearing a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Pulling it off like a piece of cake, she displayed her skill with a huge smile on her face. Undoubtedly, the stadium erupted with the audience on their feet for young Biles.

Even though she is only 24 years old, she has taken long strides in her career, setting the bar high for juniors to follow. Notably, Biles is the second female American gymnast with the most number of Olympic medals; the first is Shannon Miller.

Simone Biles turned into an inspiration for many after her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympic events. She backed off from the biggest stage in the world, citing mental health reasons. Notably, her move sparked a worldwide conversation surrounding the mental health of players, and its unfortunate negligence that needs more importance.
