Simone Biles has recently been awarded the BBC Lifetime Achievement Award for Sports Personality. This comes after her 4 Olympic Golds and 19 World titles.
The athlete, who is now considered the greatest gymnast of her time, is certainly worthy of the award. Along with giving stellar performances over the years, she has also displayed courage and bravery.

Biles actually originally joined gymnastics to get a scholarship. She never knew then she would become the G.O.A.T of gymnastics.

Biles originally joined gymnastics because she wanted a college scholarship. Her love for the sport grew quickly. She started doing immense hard work dedicated everything to her sport.
It wasn’t just about the scholarship anymore. It meant much more now. Biles reveals she gets herself is astounded by her achievements.
“Well, whenever I reflect on my career and to know how much I?ve accomplished?I?m just kind of mind blown,” said Biles.
The elite gymnast has achieved so much in just 24 years of her life. She has taken the gymnastic world by storm since the time she entered.

“Because whenever I first started gymnastics I wanted a college scholarship and I?ve outdone that by like a lot, so I can?t complain.”
Biles revealed that she is a normal human being and always wanted to be viewed as that.

“I?m just really good at gymnastics and I love that but I?m a human and so for them now to see that and to give these big awards I?m like: ?That?s so crazy.?
When Biles walked out of Tokyo in 2020, she clarified that she was just another person going through her own share of struggles.
Biles’ parents are proud of her achievements
Meanwhile, Simone Biles’ parents are overwhelmed by their daughter’s achievements. At only 24 years, she has achieved what many can only dream of.

“We?re very proud of Simone, very proud of her achievement, very proud that she?s receiving this award, unbelievable,” said Nelly Biles.

Biles has given courage to all those athletes who were going through struggles of their own, unable to express themselves. She has made it clear that as an elite sports person, it’s okay to take time for yourself. They do not have to choose their performance over their own physical and mental health.
