The nominee list for the 2022 Sports Emmys just came out, and it is highly competitive. Among popular shows like Netflix’s Drive to Survive and Uninterrupted’s Golden, is also Simone Biles’ series, Simone vs Herself.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presents the Sports Emmy Awards each year. The Awards recognize excellence in American sports television programming, including sports series, live sports, and even announcers.

Versus is Facebook’s sports series on Facebook Watch, which has featured athletes like Stephen Curry and Tom Brady as well.

Simone Vs Herself nominated for the 2022 Sports Emmys

The 2022 Sports Emmys will air on May 24th this year. For the category of Outstanding Documentary Series, there are five nominees this year.

In fact, two of the nominees are Netflix original series, including F1 docu-series Drive to Survive and Last Chance U: Basketball. Additionally, Uninterrupted’s series on USA Gymnastics, titled ‘Golden’, is also a nominee this year.

Moreover, Simone Biles‘ series on Facebook Watch, titled ‘Simone vs. Herself‘ is a nominee on the list too. The documentary covers the life of Biles on and off the mat. Moreover, the series also covers the mental struggles she went through during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Simone vs Herself garnered critical and audience acclaim for highlighting the raw side of Biles’ work ethic. Despite her larger-than-life stature on the gymnasium floor, Simone vs Herself introduced audiences to the human side of the elite athlete.
