Simone Biles joins an elite list of USA Today’s Women of the Year
USA Today announced their Women of the Year this week, honoring resilient and strong women who have inspired and effected change across the nation. In fact, the ‘Women of the Year’ program followed USA Today’s ‘Women of the Century’ project.

In the latter, USA Today highlighted the achievements of remarkable women who were pioneers of change in the hundred years since women gained the right to vote.

25-year-old American gymnastics star Simone Biles is one of the women on the list. She has joined the likes of Melinda Gates and Kamala Harris on the list of honoraries. Additionally, Admiral Rachel Levine is also on the list of the women of the year, along with Linda Zhang of Ford Motors.

Biles will be tying the knot soon
Just over a month ago, Simone Biles announced her engagement to her boyfriend, Jonathan Owens. Owens, an NFL star, plays for the Houston Texans and proposed to Biles on Valentine’s Day.

Biles and Owens have been dating each other since March 2020, from the beginning of the pandemic. Biles revealed that they first connected over social media, and eventually talked throughout the lockdown(s).

Moreover, she had also expressed on Instagram, during a QnA session with fans, that she doesn’t like being cold. Thus, a beach simply becomes a no-brainer for Simone, who would want the ideal, most perfect wedding ceremony for herself.
