Simone Biles delivered one of the most defining moments of the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year. During her performance on the vault in the women’s team event final, the star gymnast suffered the ‘twisties’ midway through a tough move.

Following the incident, the 24-year-old withdrew from three individual finals citing mental health issues. However, a video of Biles shows she didn’t feel like the best version of herself a day before the women’s team final.

Recently, Biles appeared in a docuseries titled “Simone vs Herself”. It was created by Religion by Sports, whose founders are former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan and Tom Brady.

In a video shared by Strahan, Biles spoke about how her mood changed between morning practice and afternoon practice the day before the team final. She said“Today’s been a little bit of a rough day. Feel like I just put too much pressure on myself and everything that’s happening.

“We have team final tomorrow. Morning practice was great. Came in afternoon practice, wasn’t good at all. Just like, just like my head. I just feel like I’m overthinking everything because we’re thinking about tenths, and trying to get those back and not get them deducted.”

The 24-year-old then took to attempting a few flips, after which she mentioned how she was struggling to balance herself mentally. “Like, I know how to do gymnastics, it’s just frick.”
