With seven Olympic gold medals to her name, Simone Biles is a household name across the world. Recently, she has been in the news owing to something not remotely related to gymnastics, however.

Biles just announced her engagement with Jonathan Owens of the Houston Texans in the National Football League. Now, when she took to Twitter sharing her feelings about the changes in her life, her fans have her back as they cheered her up.

Now, when Biles tweeted today that it was “weird being congratulated on things not pertaining to gymnastics,” her fans took to Twitter to lift her spirits up and congratulate her on the engagement.

“You are more than a gymnast,” one fan wrote. Talking about her accomplishments both in and out of the gym, they told Simone that gymnastics is a part of the iconic athlete and not her whole being.

“You matter beyond gymnastics,” another fan reassured Simone.

Another fan of hers wrote that Biles does “way more than one of the things (she does) best”.

In another extremely supportive tweet, a user reminded Simone that her “greatest strengths and powers” will change the world. Moreover, they wrote how her strengths have “nothing to do with the (gymnastics) rings”.

Responding directly to Simone’s expression of feeling weird, a fan assured her that it’s because “we love the whole person and wish to see you be blessed in all areas”.

“Welcome to life away from sport!” a fan tweeted to Simone Biles, congratulating her on her engagement once more.

“More people need to congratulate you on being an amazing role model and kind soul,” another fan wrote. Clearly, the world loves Simone Biles for the person and role model she is, and not just for her athletic prowess.

Even though Simone Biles gained worldwide popularity and respect through her athletic achievements, her fans reminded her that she is so much more than just her medals and championships.

“You deserve to be human,” a fan wrote. They reminded Simone that she is still a “champion, innovator, and record-setter,” but a human being first.

Then, they wrote to Biles that “you are a woman, daughter, human being, gymnast, public personality, smart, funny, beautiful, a girlfriend, a friend, (and) a businesswoman”. In that vein, they told her to “enjoy exploring” these different avenues of her life.
