Following an excellent win over the Atlanta Braves in Game 2, the Houston Astros stumbled in Game 3 of the World Series yesterday. Although their pitchers produced a solid performance, the Braves’ bullpen was significantly better on the day to hand them a narrow 2-0 victory.

Following the game, Astros manager Dusty Baker revealed 38-year-old Zack Greinke will start Game 4 on the mound.

Dusty Baker reveals Zack Greinke will start Game 4 of the World Series
During his lengthy career, Greinke became a six-time MLB All-Star. In addition, he won the AL Cy Young Award in 2009, along with six consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 2014 to 2019. He joined the Astros in 2019, the season where the Astros made their last World Series appearance.

In this year’s regular season, Greinke scored 120 strikeouts in 171 innings pitched. Along with an ERA of 4.16, the 38-year-old recorded a 11-6 win-loss record. His last postseason appearance came in Game 4 of this year’s ALCS against the Boston Red Sox, where he played just 1.1 innings.

With Game 4 now crucial for the Astros, Baker believes Greinke could help the Astros tie the series. During a press conference after Game 3 yesterday, the 72-year-old revealed the six-time All-Star will start today’s game on the mound.
