The 2021 MLB season ended last week with the Atlanta Braves beating the Houston Astros to win their first World Series in 26 years. Although the Los Angeles Dodgers couldn’t retain their title, their experienced star Albert Pujols kept his spirits up in the off-season.

Following a victory in the Dominican League, the 41-year-old took part in energetic celebrations with his team, the Leones del Escogido.

Albert Pujols takes part in a hilarious locker room dance

Although they beat the Braves in the 2020 NLCS en route to their World Series victory, they couldn’t do the same this year. Later on, he announced he would play for Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Professional Baseball League in the winter, which undoubtedly pleased fans from his home country.

On Saturday, Leones del Escogido recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over the Estrellas Orientales, triggering wild celebrations in the locker room. The team formed a train in which their entire team danced their way around the locker room, with Pujols third in line.

Following the train, they then engaged in more dance moves as they continued to enjoy. While they won Saturday’s game, Pujols’ team lost to Toros del Este 9-7 the next day to sit third in the league table. They will face the Gigantes del Cibao on November 10 in their next game.

Pujols is a 10-time MLB All-Star

Since making his MLB debut in 2001, Pujols shot straight to the top. While the St. Louis Cardinals recognized his talent, he moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to become an even bigger star. He initially joined the Angels before moving to the Dodgers this year.

Overall, he has two World Series victories, both with the Cardinals and a staggering 10 MLB All-Star call-ups. In addition, he also won the NL MVP award thrice and the 2001 NL Rookie of the Year.

While Pujols insists he won’t leave the MLB anytime soon, he will face stiff competition alongside the Dodgers to compete for the World Series once again. He will hope he can help the team recapture that glory and add another feather in his massive cap!
