The show offers seniors a chance at love, following a retired restauranteur, Gerry Turner from Indiana, on his way for a companion in his sunset years. Well, his story about his late wife is a bit emotional. However, Stephen A. Smith, known for his candid commentary, shared his thoughts on the ladies’ ages in a recent Instagram clip.

A few days ago he took to his handle and added the video along with the caption, Breaking down “The Golden Bachelor“. In the video, Stephen A. Smith wonders, “Now, what the hell would Stephen A. Smith be talking about the Golden Bachelor for?” Continuing, he remarks, “So I actually watched it for a few minutes. I mean, damn, he is 72 years old from Indiana, and look at these women. Look at Sandra, a retired executive assistant, look at Peggy, 69, Sandra, 72.”

Continuing, he adds, “Look at Nancy, oh damn, look at Marina, look at Leslie, a fitness instructor. Leslie, you go, girl.” Shocked by Natascha’s personality, he comments, “Look at that 60.” Further reviewing the bachelor, Turne, says, “That 72-year-old man from Indiana whose two daughters stepped up” and said, ‘Dad, you fly.” The clip captures Smith’s entertaining reactions to the unique dating show, adding a touch of humor to the quest for golden love. Smith’s words of course have left the community in awe having several questions about the bachelor and the ladies.

Gerry Turner, a spirited 72-year-old widower and retired restaurateur from Indiana, is ready to embark on a quest for love as the first leading man in the upcoming spin-off series. Describing himself as “72 years young,” Gerry, a father of two & grandfather. His mindset says, “it’s never too late to fall in love again.”

Gerry was married to his high school sweetheart, Toni, who passed away in 2017, just six weeks after retiring. On Good Morning America, Gerry shared that he’s had conversations with his late wife about this TV opportunity, recalling their mutual wish for the other to find happiness after one of them is gone. He believes Toni is cheering him on from above, saying, “Yeah, Gerry, do this!”
