The 38-year-old recently went under the knife for a second time. The first surgery was insufficient to rest her knee problem. Vonn has been enduring a lot of pain in the process for quite some time now. However, the star skier has made sure to keep her fans updated at all times.

In a recently shared Instagram post, Lindsey Vonn talked about the second surgery done on her knee. Vonn spoke in detail about her ordeal and thanked her fans for sending their wishes via messages and comments. While many people wished her good health again, many major celebrities also joined the list of her well-wishers. ‘Deadpool’ fame Ryan Reynolds joined several others like Nicole Phelps and Allyson Felix to send a heartfelt message to Vonn.

Lindsey Vonn thanked the team of nurses who are looking after her via her Instagram post. She also thanked the specialist for helping her with her knee injury, along with Dr. Hackett for his constant care and for helping her determine how to best prevent further damage. The now-retired skier shared that while she had to undergo painful surgeries, her love for skiing never stopped her. Lindsey also mentioned that she will have to undergo another surgery in the coming days to put an end to her problem fully.

The Instagram post by Lindsey Vonn moved her fans. They wished a speedy recovery to the injured skiing expert. Joining her fans among the long queue of well-wishers, several celebrities also sent their love to Vonn. Ryan ‘Deadpool’ Reynolds praised Vonn and said that she has a “Heart of a lioness.” Reynolds wasn’t alone. Sending her wishes, track and field star Allyson Felix said, “Sending you all the healing vibes.” Nicole Phelps also commented on the post, saying, “Get well soon!!!” Several other renowned individuals also wished Lindsey good health.

Love and banter for the recovering star

Lindsey Vonn was asked a funny question by her fans. Fans asked if she really ate two pizzas by herself. Answering the playful question, she said, “Finally… lots of people asked if I ate both pizzas lol. One Pizza was more than enough for me, but the other box was for the amazing nurses that took care of me.” Along with their wishes, fans also talked about their own stories of injuries in sports. They acknowledged the courage the former World Champion housed within herself.

Lindsey Vonn has won two bronze medals and one gold medal in her Winter Olympics appearances. She created several records in her skiing career that spanned 15 years. Vonn had a long-standing record of winning the most world cup games, with 82 victories. The record was unbeaten until June 2023, when Mikaela Shiffrin overtook her. She still holds the record for registering the most number of wins at the Lake Louise ski track and has 20 crystal globes to her name.
