On 24th January 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin won the 83rd World Cup title, stunning millions of fans. Her spectacular win made her surpass Lindsey Vonn’s record, firmly engraving her legacy in the sport. In a recent social media post, Shiffrin unexpectedly quoted Master Oogway from the movie Kung Fu Panda. The quote indicates how, while she is not sure of the future, she will enjoy the present. With this, the alpine skiing legend also told how the quote gave her hope.

 In the movie Kung Fu Panda, Oogway makes this quote to Master Po Ping’s statement about quitting. Along with this memorable quote, Shiffrin also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate this special milestone with those who have been a part of her journey.

In the Twitter post, Shiffrin wrote, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift…” Further, in a comment after the post, she shared, “That’s why it’s called the present.” Surprisingly, this quote was also said by Eleanor Roosevelt, the former First lady of America. Continuing, Shiffrin spoke, “I think I like the mystery. Even though it feels I might pass out from the uncertainty sometimes.”

Further, in another comment, Shiffrin spoke, “That thought gives me hope for the first time since Feb 2, 2020.” On this fateful day, Mikaela Shiffrin’s father died, and she had considered quitting the sport then as per reports.

Later, Shiffrin indicated that she was grateful for her amazing performance and for not knowing what lay in the future. Reacting to her amazing post, fans congratulated her, telling her that she deserved the win after her hard work. Not only this, but her boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde also reacted through Instagram.
