Musical genius Tina Turner’s death at the age of 83 saddened the world. The singer died at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland on 24th May 2023. Diagnosed with cancer during the year 2016, Turner had a natural death, as reported by the New York Post. As tributes poured in from all corners of the world, Lindsey Vonn also gave a heartfelt message for the Swiss singer on Instagram.
The alpine skiing legend’s message was a reflection of the Grammy award winner’s immense contribution to music. Known for songs like A Fool in Love, It’s Gonna Work Out Fine and River Deep, Mountain High, Turner left behind a priceless legacy. Displaying Turner’s memorable picture, Vonn penned her thoughts in two words, after hearing about the music artist’s death.
Lindsey Vonn’s memorable message for Tina Turner
The alpine skiing legend exhibited a picture of Vonn with her second husband Erwin Bach. The image was of the year 1986 when their relationship began. Dating for more than 10 years, the couple finally got married in 2013. The picture exhibits Tina and Erwin enjoying themselves in the snow.
Adding this picture to her Instagram Story, Vonn wrote, “RIP legend.” The word legend is a testament to Turner’s valuable contribution to music. Achieving tremendous fame for albums like Private Dancer, Simply the Best and Foreign Affair, more than 5 million copies of her albums were sold worldwide.
Along with Vonn, NFL player Magic Johnson, gymnastics athlete Jordan Chiles and NBA legend LeBron James also paid tributes to the musical phenomenon.
NFL star Magic Johnson stated on his Twitter handle, “Rest in peace to one of my favorite artists, the legendary queen of rock n’roll Tina Turner: I’ve seen her many many times and hands down, she gave one of the best rock shows I’ve ever seen. “

The NBA legend LeBron James penned on his Instagram handle, “Rest in Paradise Queen Tina!”Gymnastics athlete Jordan Chiles also expressed her grief of the singer’s death on Instagram and wrote, “Crazy”, unable to process Turner’s death.
The world has lost one of its “Queen of Rock n’ Roll” and her void will always be felt. Nonetheless, her songs shall always be evergreen and unforgettable for future generations.
