Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce is one of the most talented Jamaican athletes. A two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and a 4 time World Champion, Pryce is a top-tier female sprinter. She falls among the top female sprinters of the world along with Elaine Thomspon Herah and Allyson Felix.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Shelly-Ann won the Silver medal. The podium was entirely dominated by Jamaica and Pryce was proud to be one of them. She won her first medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After that, she successfully defended her title in the 2012 London Olympics. When it comes to the World Champions, Fraser Pryce has a total of 10 Gold medals.

In reality, Shelly-ann Fraser Pryce has beautiful long black hair. However, she chooses to wear colored wigs. In fact, during the 2019 World Championships, her hair was a hot topic for the media.

Many contemplated that she was not proud of her African heritage and therefore, chose to wear a wig. But the 35-year-old athlete has revealed that her wig has nothing to do with her heritage or where she comes from.

The truth of the matter is, that the colored wig is a part of the image that Fraser Pryce has. She is known for her loud and colorful personality and the wig is something that compliments it very well.
“Yeah but like the colored hair is part of my running image.”

During the Rio 2016 Olympics, Fraser Pryce wore a wig that had the colors of her country; Yellow, Black, and Green. Therefore, it’s obvious that the athlete is proud of her culture and country. And even though she was injured that season, she still went ahead to win a bronze medal for her country.
