A thrilling face-off between Fred Kerley and Lamont Marcell Jacobs is on the cards. The news of this clash comes after Fred Kerley criticized Jacobs for participating in indoor championships and said “the real dogs come and play outdoor.”
This faceoff, at the Diamond League Series will see the two athletics champions compete in Rabat and Italy. According to sources, tracks athlete Trayvon Bromell is also set to take part in this event. So when will this clash take place?

Kerley and Jacobs will first butt heads at Rabat, Morocco on 28th May in the 100m race. Ande De Grasse, Akani Simbine, Yohan Blake, and Chakir Machour are other track athletes who will also contest in the Series. Post this, both on-fields rivals will have another faceoff on 2nd June in Florence, Italy.
Jacobs’ advantage in Italy will be racing on his home ground, and is set to attract thousands of Italian track fans. The race will take place in Stadio Luigi Ridolfi in Florence. Ahead of this event, Fred Kerley opened up on competing with Jacobs on the track field.

Fred Kerley is confident about performing better than Jacobs ahead of the face-off

During a press conference, Kerley referred to competing with Jacobs and said, “If it happens, I’ll be there and I’ll definitely win.” Further, he added, “I don’t know if he’ll show up”, referring to Jacob’s hiatus from competing in outdoor championships.”
Earlier, Kerley also expressed his eagerness for a face-off on Twitter. He tweeted, “Make it happen. I want 1v1 no one else just him.”  It seems like Kerley wishes to redeem himself after losing to Jacobs in the 100m race at the Tokyo Olympics.
