The Track and Field season for 2022 has finally kicked off in full form. Athletes all over the US are taking part in different events. Be it the Penn Relays, the LSU Invitational, or the UNF Invitational, all these meets are witnessing some phenomenal record-breaking performances. At Saturday’s UNF Invitational, Trayvon Bromell left the audience impressed after he clocked a terrific timing.
Bromell, one of the fastest American athletes, was tied for the sixth-fastest man in the world with Christian Coleman. Although he mainly runs the 100m, the 26-year-old is also the 2016 world indoor 60 m champion.

The UNF Invitational at Jacksonville saw a tough competition between rivals Trayvon Bromell and Andre De Grasse. Both performed equally well and went on to win different events.

Bromell clocked an impressive timing of 9.75 seconds and won in what was his first 100m race this season. Meanwhile, Andre De Grasse came in second (10.07 secs), and Abdul Hakim Sani Brown took third with a time of 10.08 seconds.

In the 200m event, it was Grasse who went ahead and crossed the finishing line with a final time of 20.67s. Bromell followed him close behind and clocked an impressive 20.69s.
This is Trayvon Bromell’s new personal best and will put him ahead of Christian Coleman in the world rankings. He will now be the sixth fastest man, while Coleman will become the seventh. This is a great opener for Trayvon and it will be interesting to see how he improves as the season progresses.

Trayvon Bromell is currently gearing up for the upcoming World Athletics Championships in June. The UNF Invitational was his first event this season, and he will hope to maintain the consistency going ahead as well. He would be motivated as a youngster has just wiped out his U-20 record.

Previously, this record was held by Trayvon Bromell, who clocked 9.97 seconds in 2014.
