Major League Baseball is currently going through the owners’ lockout, following the expiration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the owners and players in December 2021. For the first time in the last 28 years, the deadline passed without a new agreement being reached. The last time it happened was way back in the 1994 season of MLB.

No teams can make any deals with players, host training sessions, or play any kind of matches until the team owners and players do not agree on a new agreement. It’s already been over 45 days since the owners imposed the lockout. And the owners and players still have not reached a new deal. Considering the current situation, spring training and the upcoming season are most likely to be hampered.
