One position they are desperately looking to fill is the shortstop. Former Houston Astros shortstop, Carlos Correa is one of the top players hitting the market in 2022.

According to ESPN’s Baseball Insider, Kiley McDaniel, the Yankees are planning to offer Correa a whooping $300million deal in December. However, there were doubts about the Yankees being ready to overlook Carlos’s 2017 World Series controversy with the Houston Astros.

However, the New York Yankees manager has cleared the air by praising Correa for his astonishing outing. Boone said, “I think he is, obviously, in the prime of his career, or entering the prime of his career even. And, is part of a what is a very special shortstop class, I think he is a guy that has really developed into a leader, over the last several seasons with the Astros.”

He further added, “He is going to be in high demand, and for good reasons. Based on the player, he is between the lines, but also the intangible that you seen him grow into over the years, at least across the diamond.”

During the interview, when Aaron was asked if he’s bothered by Carlos’ controversial history, Boone confidently replies, “No.”

While it seems like Yankees are quite interested in him, did they miss out on Carlos’ recent statement?
