Former San Francisco pitcher Kevin Gausman recently in December 2021, signed a five-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. Earlier, the rumors were that the Giants were interested in keeping Gausman and re-signing free agent Gausman.

But, the right-handed pitcher decided to change his destination and signed a $110 million worth deal with the Jays. Which will keep him at the club for the next five years. Recently, the former Giants star revealed that the Giants never offered a new contract to him.

After playing two seasons for the San Francisco Giants, Kevin Gausman left the Giants this season and joined Toronto Blue Jays on a five-year contract. When his contract with the Giants expired in 2021, many teams were keen to sign the star pitcher, including top teams like Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, and Marlin Mariners.

Speculations were rife that the Giants were also interested to re-sign their star pitcher. But to put an end to all rumors related to the Giants, Gausman took his Twitter and confirmed that his former club never offered him a new contract. He said, anyone or anything that says otherwise related to the San Francisco Giants is fake.

Gausman signed a five-year deal with the Jays
According to MLB Trade Rumors, after an impressive season in 2020, San Francisco Giants issued two offers for their star pitcher, a qualifying offer for the next season, and a multi-year deal. But Gausman chose to accept the one-year qualifying offer worth $18.9 million.

The following season, Gausman performed even better for the Giants, which attracted many other teams to sign him for their side. After discussing with various teams, the 31-year-old finally landed at the Toronto Blue Jays for a huge $110 million deal. Which will keep him at the club until the 2026 season of Major League Baseball. As per MLB Trade Rumors, the New York Mets had offered a larger contract than what he accepted from the Jays. But Gausman landed at the Blue Jays.
