Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher and currently a free agent, Clayton Kershaw, is hopeful for a return in the upcoming Major League Baseball season 2022. Since his MLB debut in 2008 with the Dodgers, Kershaw has never played for any other MLB team in the last 14 years.

Kershaw, who did not have a good season in 2021 with his injuries and health concerns, is positive to be available for the opening day of the season. However, he is still a free agent and is yet to sign for any MLB side. During the 2021 season, the Dodgers pitcher rejoined the final month of the season. But once again he was unable to pitch in the postseason due to swelling in his left forearm. In the entire 2021 season, Kershaw pitched in only 22 games for the Dodgers.

Notably, Kershaw is one of the most valuable free agents in the market today, and he is yet to sign for any team. This season, the Dodgers have already lost their star player Max Scherzer to the New York Mets. Certainly, if Kershaw also signs for a different team, it will be difficult for the Dodgers to challenge for the title this season.

In a couple of months, Kershaw will turn 34 and will have played 14 seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers. During these 14 years, he has won one National League MVP, eight All-Star selections, and a Gold Glove for the Dodgers. Kershaw’s three-year contract worth $93 million with the Dodgers expired after they lost the National League Championship Series to the Atlanta Braves.
