Amidst the lockout, Yankees added former player, Eric Chavez, as the assistant hitting coach. Eric would work in coordination with hitting coach Dillon Lawson. Looking back at Eric’s rewarding professional career, he has played for Oakland Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks, apart from Yankees. Remarkably, during his outings, he earned six Gold Gloves and a Silver Slugger Award.

From 1998 to 2014, he smashed 260 home runs, secured 908 RBI’s, and had a WAR of 38.3. While in his off-field career, Eric has experience being the special assignment scout to Yankees’ Brian Cashman, and special assistant to Los Angeles Angels GM, Billy Eppler. Hopefully, his addition to the Yankees coaching staff would be fruitful for the team.
