After his idol, Ichiro Suzuki, Japanese star, Shohei Ohtani has established his place at the top in Major League Baseball. Another Japanese player is slated to mark his place in MLB in the upcoming season.

Even before his entry, Seiya Suzuki is already on the radar of big MLB teams like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. Shohei opened up on his upcoming counterpart, Seiya Suzuki.

”Above the rest”: Shohei Ohtani praises Seiya Suzuki

Back in 2017, Shohei Ohtani had landed in American baseball, and his journey just got better to best this season. Shohei embraced himself as the incredible two-way player in baseball history. Following Ohtani and Ichiro, Seiya Suzuki will also soon join American baseball.

Notably, Seiya had stepped into the MLB market, but his future team selection got delayed due the MLB lockout. Albeit, he has taken the headlines and spotlight, as he will be a promising addition.

Praising the Japanese baseball star, Ohtani talked about Seiya Suzuki. Ohtani said, “I think Suzuki is a cut above the rest in the current landscape of Japanese baseball.”

Seiya Suzuki already has arch-rivals fighting for him

Top MLB franchise and oldest rivals, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, are reported to be interested in signing Seiya. The buzz around him has got the Yankees and Red Sox fans fighting over him.

Interestingly, in a recent interview with Koji Uehara, Seiya Suzuki was asked if he’s going to Boston Red Sox, he said, “Uh… I can’t quite disclose that yet.”

Although he did not accept it, he also didn’t discard it either. Rumour has it that there is a high chance of him joining the Boston Red Sox. Regardless of the team he joins, Seiya will definitely blow minds as he comes with nine years of experience on the field in Japanese Baseball League.
