“A Legend Already”- Chicago Cubs Star Marcus Stroman Heaps Praise on Juan Soto

Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman, on Wednesday, named who he thinks is the most disciplined and difficult hitter ever to play in Major League Baseball (MLB). The former New York Mets player thinks that the 23-year-old Washington Nationals hitter, Juan Soto, is already a legend of the game. 

After playing for New York Mets in 2019 and 2021, Stroman signed a three-year deal worth $71 million with Chicago Cubs this season. Stroman made his Major League Baseball debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2014 and played five years for the Jays, from 2014 to 2019.

The Cubs pitcher, while responding to a video on Twitter, heaped praise for the Nationals’ hitter. He said that Soto has the best zone judgment and plate discipline. Stroman also said that he loves competing against the Nationals’ hitter.

“Soto has the best zone judgement and plate discipline out of any hitter ever to play this game. I truly believe that. Love competing against him. He’s a legend already,” tweeted Marcus Stroman.

In the video, Stroman is showing off a then-new pitch against Juan Soto in the 2021 season of MLB.

This is not the first time Stroman has praised his division rival. Earlier in the 2021 season, the Cubs pitcher had said that Soto was the best player in the league. He also called the Nationals’ star the best hitter he has ever faced in his life.

“Soto. I believe he’s the best player in the league. He’s the best hitter I’ve ever faced in my life for sure. When it’s all said and done…he will go down as one of the best players ever in my eyes,” tweeted Stroman.

Currently, Major League Baseball is going through the owners’ lockout. The owners and players still have not reached a new agreement and hence, all transactions are at a standstill. Certainly, fans hope the lockout is lifted soon and business returns to usual, with entertainment and free-agency drama serving in plenty.
