Baseball fans had their eyes on top shortstop Carlos Correa as he was expected to sign a huge contract this off-season. However, things took a dramatic turn as an MLB lockout was established, barring teams from signing any deals.

While some players were affected by the lockout, Correa seems unbothered about the date of his contract. Notably, after another shortstop, Corey Seager grabbed a $325 million contract with the Texas Rangers, Correa was expected to be handed an even bigger one.

According to Jon Heyman, Carlos has many offers on the table, but he is comfortable waiting for more. Jon revealed, ”Correa has received much interest/many offers but is comfortable waiting through the coming lockout for the right one. And he will wait. The usual big spenders and a majority of playoff teams have not spent big yet, and if the tax threshold rises, that could benefit him.”

Notably, the $5 billion worth, New York Yankees, haven’t spent a lot this off-season. However, they desperately need a shortstop for 2022, and might just end up spending a huge sum on Correa.
