To much surprise, the New York Yankees have lost some of their potential players in the free agency this off-season, even before the lockout was enforced. However, hopes of signing Seiya Suzuki have now emerged from the dead, despite strong reports claiming Seiya’s future to the arch-rivals, Boston Red Sox.

Notably, initial reports stated that the Red Sox and the Japanese star shared a mutual interest in a future relationship. However, things now might’ve taken an unexpected turn, opening the doors for Yankees to come in and make a swift deal.

Seiya Suzuki unfollows Boston Red Sox on Instagram

Japanese talent, Seiya Suzuki was drafted in MLB in November and quite remarkably stole the spotlight with his incredible stats. Notably, big names like the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have been linked to him ahead of the 2022 season. Moreover, speculations of a rumored relationship strengthened when Seiya followed Red Sox’s official Instagram page.

Notably, he also followed some other Red Sox players in the process. Hence, many believed a move to the Sox was on the cards. However, in a new update, then disappointed Yankees fans now have something to smile about.

Seiya has unfollowed the Boston Red Sox page, sending a message out to other franchises. Although, it might just be a way of ending the strong rumors around his future. Hence, it would be too soon to draw out conclusions if Seiya is going to Red Sox or not; however, it does hint at his availability and that the Yankees are still part of the race.

The 27-year-old arrives in Major League Baseball with nine years of baseball experience in Japan. Seiya has hit .309/.402/.541 with a .943 OPS. Additionally, he has smashed 189 homers and has 102 stolen bases. Undoubtedly, Seiya Suzuki would be an incredible outfielder for whichever team he commits his future to.
