While most teams have been on a relentless spending spree, New York Yankees are yet to make a big-money signing. Believed to be saving it up for the top free agents, it all comes down to those still left in the market.
World Series 2021 fame, Freddie Freeman is yet to sign a contract, and the Yankees might focus on him over others. Notably, the contract Freeman is expecting should not be a problem for the richest franchise in baseball.

Freddie Freeman is seeking way less than Yankees’ highest-paid player
According to Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees are interested in signing the former Atlanta Braves star, Freeman. Jon revealed, ”Yankees are definitely interested in Freddie Freeman but like most, they have a hard time seeing the Braves let him get away.”

After his astonishing outing in the Fall Series 2021, guiding the Atlanta Braves to the title, the team is not ready to give up on their ace performer. Jon Heyman revealed, ”Word is Freeman had been seeking about $180M for 6 years. Seems reasonable to me. If that’s it, Braves should just pay him.”
Freeman had earlier expressed his desire to continue with the Braves. If the franchisee pays him what he expects, the Yankees would have to offer him more than what he wants. After losing out on most of their prospects in the off-season, the Yankees will give it their all to secure Freeman now.
New York Yankees should aim for the big guns left
Sadly, the Yankees’ potential shortstop interest, Corey Seager, is off the charts after the Rangers signed him on an insane contract. Albeit, many top free agents are still on the market, specifically Freddie Freeman and Carlos Correa.
