New York Yankees star, Aaron Judge, had an extraordinary run in the 2021 season, blasting one too many home runs for the team. Undeniably, when the team stepped on the field, Judge always took the spotlight with his heroics.

The Yankees ace has been part of the team all his career; however, he will enter free agency after the 2022 season. Notably, team manager Aaron Boone was all praise for Judge and also dropped hints on his extension.

Aaron Judge: Complete package for Yankees

29-year-old, Judge has been part of the pinstripes since his maiden major league season (2016). However, after the 2022 season, Judge will enter free agency. In conversation with R2C2, the Yankees’ manager was asked about their plans on Judge’s extension.

”Well, I don’t think it will affect him. He is such a pro now, you could argue with that in extension somehow, you know, take him to some another level maybe as a leader. Obviously, the face of this team. I do feel like he is really coming into the zone as a really good leader on this team. He is tough; he plays through things and but I think he is really finding his voice, as a leader of this team. And that’s been a process over these last few years,” Boone said.

Boone further added, ”He has obviously been our best player, the face of our team. It’s been fun to witness him evolve in that role. He is obviously coming off a great season, but he has become that complete package as his leadership matures.”

Best player, leader, complete package- after using such big terms, hopefully, Boone will land a good extension deal for Judge, who indeed deserves his place in the team. Moreover, the Yankees need Judge to stay with them.
