Rare footage showcases Babe Ruth and his gesture before the iconic shot

As the New York Yankees faced the Chicago Cubs in the 1932 World Series game, the Cubs bench, already threatened by Ruth’s abilities, tried to pull him down by throwing comments on him. However, confident Babe Ruth was not only concentrating on his game, but also attacking them back with words and gestures.

In the fifth inning of Game 3, held on October 1st, 1932, Babe Ruth was against Cubs pitcher Charlie Root. Before blasting a home run, he made a pointing gesture at the Cubs dugout, and the iconic moment followed. At the same position where he pointed, Babe Ruth smashed the home run. It later became the headline topic that Babe Ruth called out his shot before hitting in the same position.

While fans and admirers think he called out his shot, others think he was just pointing out at the Cubs dugout in anger. While Babe is undeniable on the top and his glories can’t be overlooked, there is a high chance of coincidence here. It could also be a reflex of his anger towards the Cubs players and fans who were trying to distract him.
