As the players were competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics, their names were booming in the online searches. Fans always want to know about their favorite sports personalities and what better place to find them than the social media. Since it was the last Olympic for the snowboarding legend Shaun White, fans were curious to know every little detail about his last appearance in the Olympics.

In his final run at the Beijing Winter Olympics, the snowboarding legend Shaun White couldn’t win a medal and finished at fourth place in the men’s halfpipe event. While the ending of his career wasn’t as per the expectation, he has given enough moments to fans and snowboarding that can be cherished for a lifetime.

Shaun White couldn’t make it to the top three on this list as well

Beijing Winter Olympics are not the only competition in which Shaun White couldn’t make it to the podium. In the most tweeted athletes of Beijing Winter Olympics list, the snowboarding legend secured a fifth place. Despite his last appearance in the Olympics, Shaun White lost to some of the young athlete such as Yuzuru Hanyu from Japan and his compatriot figure skater Nathan Chen on the list.

 

As per the list published by American media company Boardroom on their official twitter handle, Yuzuru Hanyu is at the top of the list, followed by another Japanese Shoma Uno in second place and American skater Nathan Chen in third place.

Yuzuru Hanyu is the most tweeted athlete of Beijing Winter Olympics

The Japanese legend Yuzuru Hanyu might have failed in his dream of winning a third consecutive Olympic gold, but his popularity hasn’t been affected by any of this. He is still the top favorite amongst Olympic fans. It was a disappointing Olympic for the legend, as he couldn’t complete his dream of performing a perfect quad axel and lost the podium as well.

Although there weren’t enough reason for Yuzuru Hanyu to be happy about the Beijing Olympics; despite putting brave efforts in the finals of men’s figure skating event. However, seeing his name on the top of this list will surely bring a smile to his face.
