Three-time Olympic medalist Mikaela Shiffrin is yet to win a single medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. For the first time in her career, Shiffrin placed outside of the top-10.

Moreover, she also suffered from consecutive crashes in the women’s slalom and giant slalom events. In the women’s downhill, Shiffrin finished eighteenth- quite unexpected from a skier of her caliber.

Nevertheless, Shiffrin is on course for making history at the Olympics, after deciding to compete at the team event as well.

In fact, she will become only the second woman to compete in six Alpine events at the Olympics. Mikaela Shiffrin would be joining Slovakian Petra Vlhova, who competed in six events during the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Even though Vlhova didn’t stand atop a podium in any of her six 2018 events, she made up for it four years later. Remarkably, she just won the gold medal in the women’s slalom event on February 9th.
