It’s been a week since the legend, Shaun White, bid farewell to snowboarding and it was quite a happening week for him. With all the press and reporters swooning around the champion, he didn’t get the opportunity to thank everyone who was part of his snowboarding journey for over 20 years.
He was in tears at the moment of departure, and it might have been the toughest few minutes of his life, saying goodbye to such a special part of his life. But since all good things must come to an end, his farewell to the sport was inevitable too.

Shaun White pays tribute to everyone who was part of his journey
At the Olympics, there was not enough time to thank everyone who was part of his journey. The champion took an entire week off and finally took to Instagram to acknowledge all his supporters. Shaun White posted a big thank you note on Instagram today for all who shared his journey of snowboarding for 22 years.

The three-time Olympic champion said, “Typing this now makes me just as emotional as I felt last Friday. It brings me tears of joy. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions, and I am overwhelmed with appreciation. Closing this chapter of my life has made me reflect on the past 22 years as a professional snowboarder with gratitude.”

A big thank you to all
In his Instagram post, the 35-year-old snowboarding legend started his acknowledgment by thanking his sponsor, Jake Burton, and the entire Carpenter family. He further thanked his coach, JJ Thomas, his physical therapist, Esther Lee, his technician Kenny Kunalt, trainer Jason Walsh, his friend and mentor, Tony Hawk, and the entire Olympics team.

The legend was even grateful to all his competitors who made him the best version of himself. He even thanked his family and all his fans for supporting him throughout the years.
The champion finally ended his thankyou note by saying, “Retirement sounds like the end, but for me it’s just the news beginning. The future looks bright.”
