WATCH: Nathan Chen Pulls Off an Insane Backflip in Figure Skating Gala at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

The star-studded figure skating exhibition at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 was magnificent. The event featured gold medalist Nathan Chen, Japanese legend Yuzuru Hanyu and the Russian Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova. Every performance in the event was enchanting, fluent, and a visual treat for the audience.

The 17-year-old figure skater Anna Shcherbakova commenced the exhibition with a soulful performance and later the audience got to watch a scintillating masterpiece by the Japanese legend Yuzuru Hanyu. Just when the crowd thought they were done with exceptional performances, the American figure skater Nathan Chen set the stage on fire.

An insane backflip by Nathan Chen

The 22-year-old Olympic gold medalist showcased an amazing performance on the song ‘Rocketman’ as Chris Howarth introduced him by saying, “It’s time for Rocketman!” He further added, “It doesn’t matter what he does, he brings a smile to your face.” 

He ended his performance with an insane backflip, as the crowd was all roaring and cheering for the champion. Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 was everything Nathan Chen could ever hope for. The champion skater won his first-ever Olympic gold along with a silver medal in the team event. He was the top favorite since the beginning and winning amongst the legends, like Yuzuru Hanyu, certainly proves the level he is currently at.
