Fans have peculiar ways of celebrating their heroes and sometimes, when a certain gesture is linked with a player, it becomes a ritual. After a couple of weeks of amazing sporting events and performances, Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 has finally reached its closing ceremony.

It turned out to be an action-packed Olympics, with some of the greatest sports personalities saying goodbye to their sport and some new talents making their mark in the Olympics.

Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, was heartbreaking for the Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu. He failed at his dream of performing a perfect quad axel jump and couldn’t win his third consecutive Olympic gold.

However, the fans will get an appearance of the legend before leaving Beijing at the closing ceremony.

Fans are ready to shower ‘Winnie the Pooh’ on their hero, Yuzuru Hanyu

The two-time Olympic gold medalist, Yuzuru Hanyu, is quite fond of the cartoon character, Winnie the Pooh. When Yuzuru won his second consecutive gold at Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018, the crowd showered him with Winnie the Pooh dolls. Although this cannot be possible in the Beijing because of the ban on stuffed animals and dolls.

However, the fans still wanted to show their love and support for the legend and were eagerly waiting outside Capital Indoor Stadium, holding Winnie the Pooh dolls before his performance at the Sunday gala.

No medal for Yuzuru Hanyu at Beijing Winter Olympics

The 27-year-old, Japanese skater was one of the favorites going into the men’s figure skating short programme at the Olympics, but the result was quite unexpected. His performance in the first round was not fluent and in the finals a failed attempt at quad axel jump only got him a fourth place in the men’s figure skating event.

In the press conference later, Yuzuru revealed, he was injured badly before the finals and had to take an injection prior to his performance. However, irrespective of the results, the fans still hold the same admiration for the legend and will continue to support him in his every future endeavor.
